
A high command of the German Army 'Operation Inherent Resolve' coalition, led by the United States, fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, has been found dead Wednesday in his hotel room in Iraq.
The German colonel, Stephan Spoettel, was found dead in hotel Cristal Erbil, in the northern city of Erbil, the Kurds under control, reported the German armed forces through a statement, quoted by NBC News.
Stephan Spoettel was in charge of training the contingent in northern Iraq. According to the statement, there is no evidence to suggest ningçun a suicide or the participation of a third party.
The antiterrorist coalition has yet to provide details. "The accident is under investigation," the statement said.
